"On the Porch" 1920
According to Cecil Ethington Aston (#27) this photograph was taken November 1, 1920 at a special gathering of the Ethington Family held just prior to several members leaving for "The West" (Arizona). It is the Fall of the year--note the leaves on the lawn, the tree to the rear of the house, and Sallie Irene's coat. Since Susan Elizabeth died in July of 1920 (Sallie Irene was her care-taker), only a few months had passed since her death. The photo was taken at the home of George Floyd Ethington on th Peytona road between Shelbyville and Frankfort Kentucky. A key to this photograph appears below.

George Floyd Ethington home, Peytona Kentucky 1980
In 1980 a reunion of the Ethington family was held in Shelbyville Kentucky. Descendants of George Floyd Ethington visited the home he built in Peytona and had this photograph taken in the exact spot where the 1920 picture was taken. The porch has been removed, but the window and front door are easily identified in both pictures. Palph Price Ethington (center, blue shirt) and Thelma Armstrong (center, Lavender dress on Ralph's right) are the only two persons who appear in both pictures.
