Letter from Dorothy Rogers Claxon to HDE dated 0 Jun 2000:"Hester May Ethington-1602. Her son was Albert, by her first marriage. Hester left him in Callie's care while still very small. She left Kentucky, went to West Virginia. No one knew where she was for about eight years. Callie placed Albert in an orphan home. When she (Hester) came back to Kentucky, she took him back to West Virginia."

My grandmother (Mary Henrietta) says the baby's name is listed incorrectly.
It was Ruth Jewel. Mammaw remembers sitting on the steps of the house when
the doctor came. She was 4. Ruby was 6 and Helen was 1 1/2. That's about
all she remembers, but she says she is positive the baby's name was Ruth Jewel.
She also said her mother is buried at a small church (Antioch) cemetary in
Bagdad KY, but I've never been able to find it. Do you have any clue? or
where to look. I'd love to be able to take Mammaw there to see the site.

"Ruby was adopted into the Lynn Family after her mother's death. She lives in Lexington KY."
Kentucky state mortality schedules of births and deaths show that a Ruby S.(?) Ethington was born 11/1/1921 to Sebena B. Yount and her husband, Mr. Ethington (page 403, vol 132, cert # 65516). Need further infomation to understand this in light of the above. Birth was in Shelby Co KY.
