A family group sheet for this family is found in the IGI under parents Payton and Sarah (McCarty) Simpson. It appears to be derived from the 1850 census, where Payton has died, and the family is headed by mother "Sarah". That census follows:
Census: 1850 12 Sep Marion County KY (derived from Washington County KY in 1834)
622/622
Simpson, Sarah 44 F KY
Simpson, Milburn 16 M KY farmer
Simpson, Elizabeth 20 F KY
Simpson, Eli 12 M KY
Simpson, Nancy J. 10 F KY
Nelson, Rebecca 15 F KY (appears to be neighbor's daughter)Note son "Milburn" age 16. In 1860, a "Milburn Simpson" age 25, appears as neighbor to William C. Simpson. This 1860 connection strengthens the assumption that William C. Simpson is brother to Milburn, and son of Payton and Sarah.

12 Dec 2012 by HDE:
The family or one John Orr is found in the 1860 census as follows:
Census: 1860 Dist 2, Shelby, KY
Orr, John 43
Orr, Mary A. 37
Orr, Lucy J. 21
Orr, Juliana 18
Orr, John 13
Orr, Mary E. 7
Orr, Wm. R. 5
Green, Lucy 65
Miler, Ann E. 14
There is no evidence that this family is that of John Orr, father of Francis Mariah Love Orr. Needs further study. Note that Francis is born in late 1831. This John Orr, age 43 in 1860, was born in 1817. He would have been 14 years old at the time of Francis's birth.
