One Preston Vest is noted as dying in WWI of disease. This notice was taken from the Courier Journal, Louisville KY Jun 2 1919. This article states that most of the reported deaths by disease resulted from the effects of the great influenza epidemic that occurred in the winter of 1918.
Cannot prove form this alone that the Preston Vest mentioned in the article is the same man as Preston Vest son of Wilson Vest and Mary Kinney. But the uniqueness of the name, and probable age in 1918 would indicate that this is the same man. Need further information. Will not enter death date or cause here.
