Russell Howard ETHERINGTON

From Kokomo Ind. Tribune Wed Oct 10, 1984:

 Russell Etherington, age 75, Kokomo RR 6 died at 2:05 PM Tuesday Oct 9, 1984
in Howard Community Hospital.
 He was born in Harrison Township Aug 21, 1909, a son of George and Addeline
(Lincoln) Etherington.  His father survives in Kokomo.
 Oct 25, 1929 he married Freida Coe, who also survives with two sons, Donald
B. and Bobby Etherington, both of Kokomo RR 6, two brothers Glenn and Paul
Etherington, both of Kokomo, six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.  A
grandson and four brothers preceeded him in death.
 Etherington was a farmer and had lived most of his life in Harrison Township.
Services will be at 1 pm Friday in Stout andSon Funeral HOme in Russiaville.
The Rev Melvin Eller will officiate and interment will be in Sunset Memory
Gardens.  Friends may call from 3 to 9 pm Thursday at the mortuary.

Arthur B. ETHERINGTON

Information from obituary of son, Virgil W. Etherington.  The parents of Arthur
B. Etherington are not known as of Jun 1991, but he is probably a descendant of
Richard William Etherington-2881, active in Howard County IN.


Virgil W. ETHERINGTON

Obituary dated 17 Jul 1952:

 Virgil Wayne Etherington, 27, son of the late Arthur B.
Etherington and Della
May Miller, died at 12:30 am Wednesday at Muscatatuck School, Butlerville, IN.
He was born June 3, 1925 in Howard County.
 Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Anona B. Thomas, Tampa Florida, and a brother
Herbert A. Etherington Srdalta, IN.
 The body is at the L.E.Moore and Son Funeral HOme, Frankfort where friends
may call and where the funeral wil be held at 2 pm Friday.  Burial will be in
Kilmore Cemetery.

Obituary:

Russiaville, Ind - Bernice Etherington, 62, Russiaville RR 2 died at St Joseph
Memorial Hospital, Kokomo, at 9 am Tuesday, Jun 22, 1982.
 She was born in Milton Oct 3, 1919, a daughter of W. Wesley and Carrie
(Dugranrut) Newton.  She was married Feb 11 1939 to Ward Etherington, who died
Sep 8, 1979.
 Mrs. Etherington had ived in the Russiaville area all her married life and
was a member of Main Street Chirstian Church here.  She previously worked at
F.W. Woolworth and the Toy Mart in Kokomo.
 Surviving are two sons, Bill Etherington of Clayton, and Tom Etherington of
Russiaville;  a brother, George Newton of Kokomo; three sisters, Helen Newton
of Wabash, Mrs. Foister Ford of Kokomo, and Lois Mae Newton of MOunt Prospect
ILL.; and five grandchildren.  Two brothers and a sister preceeded her in
death.
 Services will be at 11 am Friday at Stout and Son Funeral Home here, where
friends may call after 2:30 pm Thursday.  Burial will be at Sunset Memory
Gardens, Kokomo.  The Rev. David Woods will officiate.
 Memorials can be in the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.


George Earl ETHERINGTON

From "Kokomo Indiana Tribune" date Thursday Nov 19, 1981:

 There were members of his family there, other residents of the Sycamore
Village Health Care Center, and special greetings from Mayor Stephen Daily -
all in observance of George Etherington's 100th birthday Wednesday.

 The birthday observance at the health care center was complete with birthday
cake, balloons and the singing of "Happy Birthday".

 Etherington has lived all his live in Harrison Township of Howard County.  He
was born Nov 18, 1881, a son of John and Rebecca Etherington.  At that time,
his family lived near the present location of Hobb's Farm Markets on Ind. 26
West.  George had three brothers and two sisters, and his father was farmer who
raised horses.

 He followed his father's vocation, working as a farmer and being a charter
member of the Howard County Farm Bureau.  If he had a hobby, it might be his
love for horses as he attended the Kentucky Derby and county and state fairs -
whereever there was horse racing.

 He attended Beech Grove School, then located at Ind. 26 and 400 West, and New
London High School.  In 1906 he married Adeline Lincoln - affectionately known
as Addie - and they had seven sons, three still living.

 The sons - Glenn, Russell, and Paul - also live in Harrison Township;  Paul
in the home the George Etheringtons build in 1923.  George has 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.

 George and his wife observed their 50th wedding anniversary in 1956.  Mrs.
Etherington died in 1960.

 Etherington is a member of the West Middleton United Methodist Church and
attended church when he was able.

 He has been a resident of Sycamore Village Center since July, 1980.

 George Etherington, 102, Kokomo RR 6, died at 8 pm Thursday, Nove 1, 1984, in
St. Joseph Memorial Hospital.

 He was born in western Howard County Nov 18, 1881, to John and Rebecca
(Moore) Etherington.  May 22, 1906 he married Addeline Lincoln, who died in
September 1960.

 Surviving are two sons, Glenn and Paul Etherington, both of Kokomo; 11
grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and six
great-great-grandchildren.  Five
sons and one great-grandchild are deceased.

 He had lived in the West Middleton area all his life and was a member of West
Middleston United Methodist Church.  He was one of the last charter members of
Howard County Farm Bureau.

Funeral services will be at 11 am, Monday in Stout and Son Funeral Home at
Russiaville.  Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens.  Friends may call from 3
- 9 Sunday at the mortuary.

Addeline "Addie" LINCOLN

Obit 23 Sep 1960

Mrs. Adaline L. Etherington, 73, Kokomo RR 6 died at 10:15 pm.m Friday at her home, 350 W 225 S, sevben and one half mailes southweest of Kokomo.  She had been seriously ill the last two months.

Born Aug 13, 1887 at Villa Grove, Ill, she was the daughter of John F. and Lucy (MOnroe) Lincoln.  She was married May 22, 1906 to George Etherington, who survives.

Mrs. Etherington was a member of West Middleton Methodist Church, a charter member of WSCS, Harrison Home Demonstration Club, and Harrison Community Club.

Surviving with the husband are four sons:  Glenn T., Russell H., Paul E., and John L. ETherington, all of Kokomo RR 6;  four brothers, Homer Lincoln and Geroge, both of Hurubusco, Albert of Fort Wayne and Harry of Potomac, ILL.  11 grandchildren, and severn great-grandchildren.  Three children preceded their mother in death.  

Funeral services were held in the West Middleton Methodist Chruch at 2 pm.m Monday with the Rev Richard Tice in charge, asisted by the Rev Lowell Townsend.  Burial was in Sunset Memory Gardens.
