 Also, note that son Ed is a widower at the age of 28.  

 Louis and Belle were married in (1910 - 27) 1873.  

 Son Ed is 28 years old, but Louis and Belle have been married 27 years.  

 Belle was married once before, while Louis has been married only once.

 Birthplace given for Louis (per family) is Illinois.  However, in this census record he states that he was born in KY.

William Edward SHELTON

1910 census states that Ed Shelton was a widower as of 4 May 1910.  He was living with his parents on that date.  He also states that he was born in MO.  See father's record for census report.
