Letter from Doris Willard Harrod Jun 1994:

"My mother and I have heard it related in family gatherings that Joseph W.
Ethington has a daughter buried there [Antioch Cemetery Franklin Co KY] but
have never known where or if it is a fact.  He was married before out time and while he lived, and I visited him often, he never had a wife.  He is in fact buried in the Greenhill Cemetery per my mother (Evelyn Curry Willard)."

Doris Lee Willard:

"A boy, Joseph Louis Sams, was taken by Estil and Evelyn Willard when he was
17 months old.  Only court record found was an indenture of apprenticeship
until he was 18 years old.  Has lived in this home all his life."
