Letter from John B. Clark to HDE dated 2 Oct 1993 shows burial in Defoe Cem
Henry Co KY of Sammie Ethington (1875 - 1957) wife Augusta H. (1869 - 1934).
I am assuming that Sammie is the husband, and Augusta is the wife, though sexes
and names could be reversed.Callie Ethington is buried next to Sammie Ethington also. However, telcom this day with Dorothy Claxon, granddaughter of Callie, Dorothyt states that Callie was never married to a Sammie EThington. See her notes.
Letter from John B. Clark to HDE dated 18 Nov 1993 explains that The Sammie
Ethington (1875-1957) tombstone contains both Sammie and his assumed wife,
Augusta (1869-1934). About 6 inches away, and to the left of the larger stone,
is a smaller stone for "Callie Ethington 1883-1957". John's comment is that it
appears that Augusta was the first wife of Sammie, and Callie was his second.
Based on the proxcimity of the two stones, and John's on site reasoning, I will
show Callie as second wife of Sammie until further information is obtained.See drawing in John B. Clark file.
Family information received 1 Dec 1993 from Russell Leon Ethington.
This
clarifies that Zona Pearl was indeed a FOX, and that Roy Leon was an Ethington.
