James Phil EDENTON

Letter dated 4 Dec 1990 from Marie Woolf to HE:
"Earl Dickenson (the Delegate) was there (Mineral City) and spoke.
He told
about Phil who was the grandson of James Phillip Edenton-3495, and son of Ellis
E. Edenton.  Said Phil locked the Sheriff up in his own jail one time.  Said
he liked to drink and drive.  One time the Sheriff told him "Phil, you've got
to turn in your license".  Phil said "No I don't".  The sheriff said "Yes, you
do."  He said "No, I don't, cause I don't have one!".  I guess he drove a model
T and was quite a character.

Dear Lisa,
Yes, I have the Ethington line for Maude Alice Edenton Simms. It is attached as a txt file, for which I owe an apology.  My .pdf printer is not working just now, so will have to send you this awful looking file.

But, the information (as they say, ) is priceless.

I have spent most of my life searching out the Ethington/ Edenton family, and it is a joy to share it with others.

Please call or write if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Harold D. Ethington

PS:  If you have any descendants of Maude and Walter I would very much like to have that information.  They would be Edenton family, and part of what I try to document.  Thanks.

Mr. Ethington,
Yes Maude Alice Simms was married to Walter Franklin Simms.  She was my great grandmother. I have looked at some of the Family Trees on ancestry and seen some of the lineage, but haven't really had time to do the research. Any information you could give me would be greatly appreciated.  I think I may have gotten on to a website owned by you before, but I can't find it now. My email address is lclccnor@aol.com . Thank you very much for your reply and your time. Lisa Logan, Burke, Virginia

Mr. Ethington,
Thank you so much for the information.  I really appreciate it.  My grandparents Maude and Walter had several children.  Agnes Lillian Sims (went by Lillian), born in 1909, Thomas next, Winifred, Harry, Wilson and Maude Murat, born June 27, 1923.  I will try to find the dates for you.  Winifred died of TB in the 1930's and Maude Murat died after she fell on a blackboard ledge at school and didn't get treated appropriately - died at home, probably of internal bleeding.  She was 11.  I will try to find the exact dates of birth and death. Hope that is what you are looking for.  Thanks again, take care, Lisa
