E-mail April 2004 from Casey Tindle, relationship not yet known:

Dear Harold,

Hello!  I believe that you and I may have been in contact some time in the past.  I am the great-granddaughter of Iva Mae Brooks, married Raymond Clyde Tindle.  She was the daughter of Elbert Edley Brooks and Elvira Florence Ethington.  I believe it was you, or someone you've been in contact with that sent me the text of letters Iva had written.  I had to take a break in my research, and now I'm slowly getting back in.

Recently, I've been wondering about those letters.  Were they orignally to you, or someone in your family?  How many were there?  Would there be any way to get a photocopy?

I noticed that she speaks of events on 1 Jul 1979.  That is the day I was born.  She was speaking of a grandchild that died.  Judy Mae Tindle, d/o Evelyn Casey and Chester 'Paul' Tindle, married Rev. David Eugene Clay.  Their oldest daughter, Mary Allison Clay died 2 Jul 1979, the day after I was born.  This is the grandchild Iva was speaking of.

I remember her, though she died when I was around 4 or 5.  I would love anything pertaining to her.  Thanks so much for your help.  Look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Casey

Dear Harold,

Good morning!  Great to hear from you!!

I have not received the letters or pictures.  Was there someone else
inquiring about my great grandparents that you could have sent those to?  I
would love to talk to them if so.  Also, I would be grateful for any copies
you could send.  Wow.  I don't think my grandfather even has a picture of
Iva and Raymond together, much less when they were that young.  I have few
pictures of her, none before she was in her 70's or 80's.

I have checked out ethington.org-- a wonderful website.  Looks great.

Just let me know the names you would like more information on, and I would
be glad to send you information.  Thanks again.  Look forward to hearing
from you.

Sincerely,

Casey
